Tim Lavoie

Over the past 25+ years, Mr. Lavoie has held various management and technical roles within the power utility sector. He has all the duties and responsibilities associated with the human resources, information technology, legal counsel and corporate secretary staff/departments, of an Ontario-based diversified and growth oriented electricity transmission and distribution company. FortisOntario is a licensed generator, transmitter and distributor of electricity in Ontario and provides distribution services to 67,000 customers. Mr. Lavoie is also responsible for various development and acquisition for FortisOntario, including the Wataynikaneyap Power transmission project, which is a transformational partnership of 24 First Nations to build 1,800 kilometers of transmission lines in the northwestern region of Ontario.

Mr. Lavoie serves on the Boards of Cornwall Street Railway, Light and Power Company Limited and Westario Power Inc., and served on the Board of Algoma University (2007-2016).  In 2020, Mr. Lavoie was appointed to the Fortis I&D Advisory Council.

Mr. Lavoie is a Chartered Professional Accountant, CMA, with an Honours Bachelor of Business Administration, specializing in Corporate Finance.
